The announcement of Wilbur Smith’s disappearance appeared on his site. “We are sorry to announce that beloved international bestselling author Wilbur Smith passed away unexpectedly this afternoon at his Cape Town home, with his wife Niso by his side,” the text of the message announcing the writer’s death.
Wilbur Smith, born in 1933 in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia), was raised and studied in South Africa. He had devoted himself full time to fiction since 1964 and had since published numerous successful novels, so much so that he was considered the ” master of adventure ”. Over 120 million copies of his books have been sold worldwide, of which 25 million in Italy.
