Encarnación: As part of the “Pink October” campaign, patients at the Oncology Hospital in the capital of Itapúa received wigs in order to undergo more humane treatment. The women were very happy about the gift because each wig was individually designed and respected their respective styles.
The delivery was made by the Ina Style Foundation, which has been making this type of donation for women with cancer for several years. The wigs reached 10 women and represent something very important to the process that each patient goes through during treatment.
Ina Delgada, president of the foundation, explained that the ten patients who benefited received fully personalized wigs because they matched the style they had before hair loss due to chemotherapy.
“Each of the wigs was made from natural hair and was the style each patient had before treatment. We strive to maintain the appearance of each individual, so we conduct an investigation and contact them,” explained Delgado.
Hair 100% natural
She explained that they have a workshop in Asunción and donate in every part of the country, so they only have to contact the foundation to tell their stories. As soon as you have contacted us, the ordering process begins. “Each wig costs 1.6 million guarantees and is made of 100% natural hair,” said Delgada.
She emphasized that hair loss in women is a painful stage, which is why this donation is extremely important. “For cancer patients, hair loss is too serious; some don’t even want to go outside, and that makes treatment more difficult,” Delgada said.
The idea of the foundation is to make this phase more bearable for women and to make everyday life easier for them, she added. “With the wigs we want to give every patient back their naturalness and give them a pleasant feeling during the treatment process in the fight against cancer,” explained Delgada in conclusion.
