Ayfer Koç, the wife of CDA Member of Parliament Pieter Omtzigt, has reacted fiercely on Twitter to some of the leaked notes by former scout Kajsa Ollongren that spoke of a ‘position elsewhere’ for Omtzigt. There is currently a lot to do about the so-called ‘whispering campaign’ against CDA politician Pieter Omtzigt. He now seems to receive support from a substantial part of the CDA supporters.

Ayfer Koç, the wife of CDA Member of Parliament Pieter Omtzigt, has reacted strongly on Twitter to some of the leaked notes of former scout Kajsa Ollongren. The notes refer to a ‘position elsewhere’ for CDA member Omtzigt. An ANP photographer recorded the note when Ollongren left the Binnenhof on Thursday, after she was told that she was infected with the corona virus.
Ayfer Koç, the wife of Pieter Omtzigt, reacts strongly in the tweet below to the possible ‘function elsewhere’ or ‘exit function’ for Omtzigt.
So these political leaders have an exit function for a hard-working representative of the people who has put his heart and soul into our rule of law. Fortunately they are not about that, but there are 342,000 voters that he will not abandon. @PieterOmtzigt

Last night, the CDA top posted a Tweet in which Omtzigt was encouraged. An article appeared in the Volkskrant which shows that the CDA top thinks Omtzigt should sing a little lower. Thomas van Groningen, political reporter for BNR, summarizes the story. ‘We know that Omtzigt has hit the big drum in the benefits affair. He was not always thanked for this, because there were also CDA ministers in the cabinet and they sometimes had a hard time. And it has also leaked that there has been talk in the Council of Ministers about how they are going to tackle Omtzigt. Because he asked very difficult questions and made it very difficult for them. ‘
Not happy
It is clear that not everyone within the CDA was equally happy with Omtzigt. ‘We know that some people within the CDA were fed up with Omtzigt. But on the other hand: he is incredibly popular with the general public, because he is a Member of Parliament who persists. ‘

Listen back | Breaks! | No extra money, but sharper choices
Thomas van Groningen wonders whether overworkedness is the only reason why Omtzigt is taking it easy at the moment. ‘He’s home sick now because he’s a bit overworked. But we don’t know exactly what’s going on now: is he home now because he’s really tired and overworked? Or is he at home because he is fed up with his party’s ‘whisper campaign’? We do not know that.’
