The wife of late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny called the attack against Ukraine “Putin’s War.”
Yulia Navalnaya gave her first interview after the murder of her husband, Alexei Navalny, in the Russian Federation. She tried to remove responsibility from the Russians for the aggression against Ukraine and expressed her grievances to the Ukrainians.
Navalnaya’s interview was published today, April 17, on the website Hour.
In an interview, Navalnaya called the attack against Ukraine “Putin’s war,” thus removing responsibility from the Russians for what is happening. According to the Russian opposition, “SVO” is said to support only the “aggressive minority” in the Russian Federation, and the rest are just afraid of reprisals.
Navalnaya also insulted the Ukrainians for not wanting to look for Russians against the war while the Russian army is destroying their country. The opposition of Russia did not like that in Ukraine they are talking ironically about “good Russian”.
“I think they (Ukrainians – ed.) just don’t want to look for those Russians against the war. And they are there. It’s just hard to expect them to take to the streets (…), not everyone is a hero…Navalnya said.
She did not say how these “anti-war Russians” can help Ukraine.
When asked if she herself is ready to cooperate with Ukraine, Navalnaya replied: “Hard to tell“. She said it’s not up to her alone.
It is worth noting that Navalnaya is indifferent to the Ukrainian issue. In the first days of the Russian invasion in February 2022, a large number of prominent Ukrainians, including President Vladimir Zelensky, publicly addressed Russians with a call to take to the streets and show the Kremlin that they are against the war. The protests took place, but a small number of Russian citizens took part in them. Most of the Russians turned out to be incompetent.
