The wife of Putin’s close friend Schröder was until now the representative of “NRW.Global Business” in South Korea.

Apart from the Schröder couple, a number of German right-wing politicians also attended the reception of the Russian embassy in Berlin on May 9, which provoked sharp criticism from the public.

Ex-Chancellor Schröder, considered one of Putin’s closest allies in the West, has been criticized for refusing to unequivocally condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Schroeder was stripped of his honorary Hanoverian status and honorary board member status of the local football club. The European Parliament called for Schröder to be included in the sanctions list of Russian oligarchs. The German government also stripped Schroeder of his former chancellor’s privileges.
