Wife Blanche proved to be a driving force behind George. ‘We are both positive people and often see more pros than cons. It was important that I would work on my fitness. So I started walking. Every day again. Even when I didn’t feel well. Then she urged me to go. Even though I couldn’t walk more than two kilometers. Other days it went well. Then I walked eight kilometers. I have faithfully continued to do so. And with results. Now I can walk that distance every day. I have no more relapses. Slowly but surely I feel physically stronger every day. The walking really helped. Now my vote.’

But George is also confident in his voice. ‘From this week I will start with singing exercises. Not too much at once. I’m going to build that up slowly.’ George assumes that then his voice will sound like old again. “I’m also taking gigs again. My booking office knows that and from September I will finally go back on the shelves.’
