Wife died in accident near Graz, husband seriously injured

A 71-year-old woman was killed in a traffic accident in St. Radegund near Graz on Saturday afternoon, and her husband (73), who was behind the wheel of his car, suffered serious injuries, the state police headquarters said.

Although both spouses were wearing seatbelts, they were seriously injured when they hit the retaining wall. The driver was flown to the LKH Graz by the Christophorus 12 rescue helicopter.

The wife died after being rescued from the wreck despite the measures taken Resuscitation measures. The Graz public prosecutor’s office released the woman’s body for burial, and further investigations were still to be carried out, the authorities said.
