The Dutch golf professional Joost Luiten has won the first tournament in a series of five with the latest simulator technology. With six strokes under par after a virtual round in St. Andrews, Luiten was two strokes ahead of Frenchman Damien Perrier. Bernd Wiesberger from Burgenland completed a par round with 72 strokes and landed in tenth place.
“All athletes, not just the golfers, look forward to competitions,” said Wiesberger. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to play indoor tournaments and interact with others, even if it will take another few weeks before you can go back to the court with a scorecard.
Luiten shared the € 10,000 victory in this charity competition between his own foundation and a hospital in Rotterdam.
