The Celle district SPD invited people to the first “soup feast” on Friday evening at the Mühlengrund brewery in Wienhausen. At the event, Rüdiger von Borcke from Eversen was honored with the Willy Brandt Medal, the SPD’s highest award, for his life’s political achievements. Von Borcke sat on the Berger city council without interruption for half a century and was also a member of the Celle district council for 30 years. In the presence of his wife Brunhild, the 82-year-old accepted the award from Dörte Liebetruth, general secretary of the state SPD, and district chairman Maximilian Schmidt.
