“Wiener Austria Receives License for Bundesliga Season with Alternative Financing”

In the second instance, Wiener Austria can look forward to the license for the coming Bundesliga season.

The protest committee assessed the submitted documents and the legal arguments and upheld the protest of the violets. The Senate 5 will decide in the coming weeks whether the FAK will start the new season with conditions.

The Young Violets will also be approved for the coming season, while regional league club SV Stripfing will be denied.

Alternative financing was additionally secured

As in April 2021 and 2022, the financially troubled violets had not received a license from Senate 5 in the first instance. A lack of security for alternative financing was complained about, this has now been set up in a different way via guarantees.

“Of course we are relieved that we have received the license for the coming season. At this point I would like to thank all our partners who have helped us to secure the alternative financing, even if – as I have often said – assume that we will not have to take advantage of this additional security,” explains CEO Gerhard Krisch in a statement.

The last few days have once again shown impressively “that we can also overcome difficult challenges together with the Austria network. As planned, we will consistently pursue our goals from the continued existence forecast in order to gradually improve Austria’s economic stability.”

This is how it goes on for stripping

This completes the procedure and the chain of appeal within the Bundesliga.

After completion of the internal association procedure, SV Stripfing can file a complaint against the refusal of admission with the Permanent Neutral Arbitration Court, an arbitration court within the meaning of §§ 577 ff Austrian Code of Civil Procedure (ZPO), within eight days.

The Lower Austrians were denied admission to the 2nd league in the first instance due to non-fulfilment of sporting and infrastructural criteria.

The licensing and approval process officially ends when the licensed clubs are announced to UEFA at the end of May.

Should stripping not be approved, only a maximum of two clubs – one from the West (Bregenz) and one from the Regionalliga Mitte (Leoben, LASK Amateure or WSC Hertha) – would be promoted. And therefore only two teams from the Admiral 2nd league are relegated.
