Widow of Karel Gott Announces Plans for Villa Bertramka, New Home Purchase

The wife of the late singer Karel Gott took a huge step in her life. Ivana decided to leave the villa on Bertramka and make it available to the public. In addition, they already have a new home with their daughters, where they will soon move.

Where Ivana will go with her daughters was not yet clear. However, Rytmus života weekly managed to find out that Gott’s girls already have a new home. The singer’s wife was supposed to buy a villa on Prague’s Císařka through her company Karel Gott Agency.

Ivana had to pay 68 million crowns for the new building. But it is still in the construction phase and is being arranged. However, the family should be moving to a new home soon.

The villa was named Malbec, its layout is 5+kk and the plot is 1,004 square meters. It is located in the newly built Císařská vinice street. There is currently only one three-story house and three other villas. Otherwise, the street is still empty.

What will happen to the villa on Bertramka?

Karel Gott spent 45 years of his life in a villa on Bertramka. Last year, Ivana made a big decision with her daughters. “I decided together with my daughters that on the occasion of Karl’s 85th birthday, which he did not live to see, and the fifth anniversary of his death, we will make our house in Nad Bertramkou Street available,” announced Ivana on facebook.

The villa will thus be transformed into a museum and will bear the name Villa Gott. It should open in the second half of this year. “I know that he would be pleased that our family home would be open to the public. The photo of Jaroslav Tatek from 1992 shows that it was natural for Karel to occasionally invite his supporters to his home ‘at Bertramka’. I would like it to be the same in the future. We believe that Villa Gott will become a place for those of you who loved him and did not forget him. I will inform you gradually about the details,” added the widow.

But Gotto’s eldest daughter Dominika disagrees with Ivana’s decision. According to her, her father would not agree to building a museum in the villa. You can find out more information in this article on TN.cz.
