Widow and daughter Johnny Hallyday reach legacy agreement …

Laeticia Hallyday, widow of Johnny Hallyday, has reached a ‘final agreement’ with actress Laura Smet, a daughter of her husband who passed away in December 2017, about the singer’s estate. She announced this on Friday.

Details of the deal were not released. This is already partly ending one long legal battle.

The widow reached the agreement with the eldest daughter of the French singer with Belgian roots, but her half brother can also agree with it. “David Hallyday waives any legal action after this agreement,” his lawyer confirmed. “We are very happy with this agreement and are asking nothing more.”

After Hallyday, whose real name was Jean-Philippe Smet, passed away at the age of 74, a will drawn up in 2014 in the United States appeared. In it, Hallyday left everything to his widow and their two adopted daughters Jade (15) and Joy (11).

53-year-old David and 36-year-old Laura, children from previous marriages (with Sylvie Vartan and Nathalie Baye), also believed they were entitled to part of the fortune and went to court. There they appealed to the French inheritance law, which says that you cannot completely disinherit your children.
