Activists from various Arab countries have expressed their anger at the official image of the German national team ahead of the start of the match with the Japanese national team at the Qatar 2022 World Cup on Wednesday.
German players protested the ban on wearing the gay fan badge by putting their hands over their mouths, in reference to “the suppression of freedom of expression”.
Players from national teams have been banned all From wearing the badge, after the International Football Federation (FIFA) imposed sanctions on players wearing the homosexuality support badge at the World Cup in Qatar.
The federation threatened to punish the wearer by giving him a yellow card early in the match.
Tweeters described the clip of the Germany national team as “offensive and inappropriate” and said the decision to ban the badge was a lesson in stopping “aberrant Western arrogance”.
Journalist Ghassan Yassin tweeted: “The image of the German national team before today’s match represents the pinnacle of Western hypocrisy and racism against Arabs. This Western arrogance must stop. How many years have you been working in gas furnaces to smelt people, coming to Doha to give us moral lessons after you danced before?” How many years with the assassin Putin?

Dr Ali Abdel-Raouf said: ‘The German team is out of focus because they are loaded with a message, which is to express our strong objection to Qatar’s objection to wearing any sign with any kind of sign and approval of FIFA”.
And he continued: “This challenge, from the beginning of the match, and in my humble opinion, has caused confusion and a lack of concentration.”
Egyptian artist Mohamed Heneidy wrote: “Imagine how much arrogance and bullying it is, that someone enters your house and wants to import his opinion with good health and ask for the needs of you, your religion, your customs, traditions and society that you refuse.. Be aware that you are afraid to defend your ideas at any cost.

The same proposition was made by sports analyst Khalil Al-Balushi, and he wrote: “You will definitely lose when you think outside of football and any thinking that is most capable on the face of the globe.”
Sports analyst Ahmed Al-Hanafi wrote: “Qatar’s position with the teams that represented Germany is historic in the full sense of the word. These people treated the Arabs as weak and unable to adhere to their faith.”
And he continued: “For the first time they feel a feeling of weakness in front of us. For the first time we feel that we are really rigid and our ability to adhere to Islam and our principles in front of them. By the way, we are defending a religion and a creed, not just a trivial matter, because the difference between you and me is great.
The captains of seven European teams have decided to wear the armbands as part of an anti-discrimination campaign during the tournament in Qatar. England, Wales, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland announced in a statement on Monday that they have reversed their decision.
Commentators have called on FIFA to take action against the German national team, stressing that this is an area to play football and not to push a partisan or factional political agenda.
And the German Football Association released a statement, saying “what its players have done is not a political position”, adding that: “Human rights are non-negotiable and banning the badge is comparable to banning our right to expression.” .
With our captain’s armband we wanted to set an example of the values we live in the national team: diversity and mutual respect. Be strong together with other nations. This is not a political message: human rights are not negotiable. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/v9ngfv0ShW
