People took to the streets across the country on Saturday. There have been demonstrations against Israel’s warfare in Gaza in, among other places, Bergen, Stavanger, Porsgrunn, Trondheim, Tromsø, Kristiansand and Bodø. And in Oslo.
In the middle of the crowd in central Oslo, Viar Christophersen Love (8) stood with his aunts Maria and Hanna Christophersen.
– I think of the children in Gaza. I feel so sorry for them, said the 8-year-old.

The aunts Hanna and Maria themselves grew up in Jerusalem. That is why they have both Israeli and Palestinian friends.
– It is a long story, and many people think it is complicated, but the moral is not complicated. It is not complicated that the attacks and the occupation must end, said Maria.
The two sisters have participated in many demonstrations to show support for the Palestinians.
– You feel so powerless to see how little is being done to stop the war crimes. It is good to see that there are so many here today. We need that, said Hanna.

– For the family in Palestine
Majd Al Hassan sat on his friend’s shoulders. In front of his mouth he held a megaphone.
– From the river to the sea, ropte han.
– Palestine will be free, answered the crowd.
Al Hassan shouted until his throat hurt.
In recent weeks, he has participated in all demonstrations outside the Storting.
– I am doing this for my family in Palestine, he said.

29.000 bomber
The war in the Gaza Strip has now lasted for over two months. The Israeli military has dropped more than 29,000 bombs on Gaza since Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on October 7.
The UN and aid organizations report a desperate situation for the 2.2 million Palestinians trapped in the Gaza Strip. The healthcare system has collapsed and there is a shortage of medicine, food and clean water.
