Pertamax Price reportedly going up in the near future. Pertamax is currently selling for Rp. 9,000 per liter. Meanwhile, gasoline with a Research Octane Number (RON) similar to Pertamax from other operators is sold at prices above Rp. 11,000 per liter.
Pertamax is not the most popular type of fuel among Indonesian people. Quoted by CNBC, Special Staff to the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga said that Pertamax fuel consumption currently reaches 13% of the total fuel consumption in the country. Generally, Pertamax is used by the upper middle class with luxury cars.
Having an octane number of 92, Pertamax is claimed to offer a number of advantages over BBM such as Premium and Pertalite. Citing the Pertamina page, Pertamax is highly recommended for those of you who have a vehicle with a compression ratio of 10:1 to 11:1 or a vehicle that already has technology equivalent to Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) technology.
Cars that use Pertamax fuel will produce more complete combustion. Fuel that has a low octane rating will take longer in the process of burning fuel oil in the combustion chamber. The combustion process that has a long time will cause a knock on the engine.
If the octane number in the engine fuel is high, then the combustion process in the combustion chamber will also be better. The reason is because the fuel can be compressed to the highest pressure before being exposed to fire from the spark plug. Pertamax has a higher octane rating than some other engine fuels.
In addition to complete combustion, the use of Pertamax is also more environmentally friendly. This can be realized because of better and more efficient combustion. That way, the gas emissions produced are cleaner and environmentally friendly.
The use of Pertamax is also claimed to be able to make fuel consumption more efficient. Why is that? The nature of Pertamax which is more difficult to burn makes the combustion process in the combustion chamber better.
Maintenance of your car is also said to be better. Pertamax does not contain lead and has a complete combustion process. Therefore the valves, heads, pistons, and spark plugs have minimal levels of crust. Lastly, the fuel used by luxury cars offers responsive performance thanks to the addition of additives. The addition of these additives makes the gas output on the car lighter. Likewise, the workload of the machine will be lighter.
