On August 25, 2023 Announced the opening of the 6GHz frequency band (5945-6425MHz) for Wi-Fi 6E. After the National Communications and Communications Commission (NCC) completes the equipment inspection regulations and procedures for various Wi-Fi6E equipment, it can accept the China Netcom factory’s application for inspection. Chunghwa Telecom said that the advantage of Wi-Fi 6E is that it can accommodate more terminal devices to connect to the network at the same time, effectively reducing the power consumption of terminal devices. Chunghwa Telecom will propose multiple services and rates, which can be equipped with new mobile phones that support Wi-Fi 6E to meet the needs of mobile and fixed-line broadband users for high-speed wireless Internet access outdoors and indoors.
Since the Wi-Fi 6E specification was released in January 2021, there are already many devices in the market that can support Wi-Fi 6E. 2. What is Wi-Fi 6E?
“Wi-Fi 6E” is an extension of Wi-Fi 6 (E stands for extension). In addition to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands, there is an additional 6GHz frequency band. “Wi-Fi 6E” has the same lower latency, higher performance and data transmission as Wi-Fi 6. Wi-Fi 6E triples the Wi-Fi capacity through continuous spectrum and can accommodate 7 Additional 160 MHz wide channels or 14 additional 80 MHz channels. The “Wi-Fi 6 Enhanced Version” advertised by Xiaomi is actually Wi-Fi 6E.
Since Wi-Fi is the most popular wireless communication tool, the existing 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands are already quite crowded. The newly added 6GHz frequency band of “Wi-Fi 6E” comes with seven 160 MHz channels, which can bring more frequency bands. 2. Which mobile phones and devices support Wi-Fi 6E?
