FEATURE – Blocking will no longer prevent you from viewing messages from an account
This is information that has gone somewhat under the radar, and which may displease many users… The social networkformerly Twitter, announced the upcoming implementation of new provisions regarding the “Block” function of the platform.
The official announcement of this upcoming update was made on Wednesday on @XEng, X’s engineering account. “The blocking feature in its current form can be used to spread or hide private or harmful information about blocked people. With the update, blocked people will be able to see if this is indeed the case,” the press release states.
Today, block can be used by users to share and hide harmful or private information about those they’ve blocked. Users will be able to see if such behavior occurs with this update, allowing for greater transparency.

“The blocking feature will prevent an account from interacting with public messages, but will not prevent them from seeing them,” previously indicated Elon Muskowner of X, in a response to a message on his social network in September.
