People within a three kilometer radius of the station will receive an alert message on their mobile on June 7. This exercise will not require any action on the part of the users.
An alert notification accompanied by a particular sound signal. On the morning of Tuesday June 7, a new alert tool will be tested in several municipalities in the Rhône, the prefecture said in a press release.
This device, called FR-Alert, should make it possible to warn all people who have a mobile phone when they are in a danger zone and tell them how to protect themselves.
No action required from users
Thus, all people within a radius of three kilometers around the Sibelin marshalling yard on the morning of June 7 will be able to receive on their mobile phone “a notification accompanied by a specific sound signal”, specifies the prefecture.
Residents of the municipalities of Feyzin, Irigny, Saint-Symphorien-d’Ozon, Sérézin, Solaize and Vernaison may be affected. However, “the mention exercise will be explicitly indicated”, and no action will be required from users.
