Why would Šimkus never want to play with Raimonds Pauls?

Pianist Vestards Šimkus is the channel’s first STV! In the show “When They Meet” he admitted that Latvian musicians would never want to play together.

Together with the hosts of the show, Šimkus took part in a game in which he had to openly answer the question whether to eat a specially prepared product.

One of the hosts, Dagmar Legante, openly asked the pianist if Shimkus could be called a musician he would never want to perform with.

“I would never want to play with Raimonds Pauls together,” the hosts surprised Šimkus with their answer.

“Because he’s such a great pianist that I wouldn’t want to play with him. His piano beat is unique. I really wouldn’t want to ruin it,” Shimkus said, noting that he could recognize it without even knowing what was playing.
