“We clearly said that it is dangerous here (in Belarus – ed.). What France and Germany are doing are their questions. From the very beginning of the war, they introduced Trip Advisor – advice on entering countries where danger could potentially arise. There is no direct ban, there is a warning that it is better not to go,” Kizim said.
According to him, there are already seven Ukrainians in Belarus who were arrested for “espionage”.
“Relatives and we are trying to somehow get to them, but if the KGB has taken it, they don’t even let the consul in and appoint their own lawyer who doesn’t say anything. “Don’t let us! I’m sorry, but we warned: it’s dangerous here,” Kizim said.
He stressed that now the possibilities of the embassy and consulate are very limited, because the Belarusian side considers us as potential enemies, and to a clarifying question whether calls to leave Belarus can be perceived as an alleged threat of a new attack on Ukraine, he said: “It is the Belarusians who are making such a noise “.
“And then it is accelerated by certain sources of other propaganda channels. But I communicate with diplomats and ambassadors – there is no big news. If the situation escalates, they will clearly say: stop traveling altogether,” Kizim summed up.
