Why We Love Blake Lively’s Everyday Style: A Fashion Inspiration for All

Impossible not to love each and every one of the looks that Serena van der Woodsen wore in the iconic series ‘Gossip Girl’ throughout its six seasons. Outside of the small screen, Blake Lively can also boast great style and has made the streets of New York his particular catwalk. It is common for him to become one of the best dressed at the MET gala, but on a daily basis he also wears super stylish looks (and best of all, simple and easy for the rest of us to copy).

The 36-year-old actress is the best inspiration when it comes to dressing with style without complicating our lives too much and she often does so with garments as basic as jeans (in fact, thanks to her we discovered how flattering the combination of jeans and cardigan can be). Once again, Blake has trusted in the power of the most universal garment and has included it in a layered look perfect for the coldest days of autumn.

To walk around New York, the one who will play the iconic Serena van der Woodsen has chosen slightly worn ‘mom jeans’. A flattering garment to which she has added a navy blue sweater and a Checkered jacket with a belt, a key detail when it comes to stylizing the figure. On her feet, some Dr. Martens that we doubt her character in ‘Gossip Girl’ would dare to wear (if you watched ‘Gossip Girl, you will know that Serena preferred another type of more sophisticated footwear).

Leaving aside the differences with her character’s style, the truth is that Blake looks gorgeous and we love her look because it shows us that the simplest combinations are often the most flattering. We take good note of her styling for when we lack inspiration. Thanks, Blake!

Ines de la Fuente She is an expert on current affairs and celebrities at Cosmopolitan. She loves finding out all about her favorite celebrities while she listens on loop to one of them, Taylor Swift (who she could talk about non-stop for hours). Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez and Britney Spears also make it onto her list of favorites.

When she’s not writing about the latest gossip in Hollywood or how to copy the latest ‘look’ of the celebrity of the moment (she keeps an eye on Rosalía, Cristina Pedroche or Blanc Suárez), she’s catching up on what’s most talked about in the news. social networks, or discovering new signings in their favorite ‘low cost’ fashion brands such as Zara or Stradivarius, and looking for inspiration for their themes of dresses, boots, coats and any garment that comes their way.

Graduated in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid, she began writing for Cosmopolitan in 2019. Before that, she worked in the editorial offices of media outlets such as Mia, InStyle and HOLA!, in the latter two writing fashion content.
