Former KPU Commissioner, Wahyu Setiawan, has finished being questioned by the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) as a witness in the alleged bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) of DPR RI members for the 2019-2024 period with the suspect Harun Masiku. Wahyu questioned why the KPK was able to arrest him, but Harun Masiku was not arrested.
“I also question why the KPK didn’t immediately arrest Harun Masiku. The KPK could catch me, why wasn’t Harun arrested?” said Wahyu at the KPK building, Jakarta, Thursday (28/12/2023).
Wahyu hopes that the KPK will immediately arrest Harun Masiku. Wahyu questioned the question of just laws.
“My hope is that I should be arrested immediately. I have carried out my responsibility. If Harun Masiku is not arrested later, I will also question the justice of the law. That is a principle for me,” he said.
He admitted that he had provided information regarding the Harun Masiku case. However, he admitted that he did not know where Harun Masiku was.
“Yes, if I knew, I would arrest him, help the KPK,” he said.
For information, Harun Masiku is a fugitive in a corruption case handled by the KPK. He has been a fugitive since January 2020.
The pursuit of Harun Masiku started with the KPK launching a sting operation (OTT) against the KPU commissioner at that time, Wahyu Setiawan. The person concerned is suspected of receiving bribes to appoint members of the 2019-2014 DPR through interim changes.
Harun Masiku is suspected of being one of the bribe givers. Harun Masiku is known as a PDIP legislative candidate in 2019.
The latest news about Harun Masiku was revealed by Firli Bahuri when he was still active at the KPK. He admitted that he had signed the arrest warrant for Harun Masiku.
“Lastly 3 weeks ago I signed an arrest and search warrant for HM,” said Firli in his office, Tuesday (14/11).
Wahyu himself has served 7 years in prison for accepting bribes from Harun Masiku. He has been out on parole since October 2023.
