In the West there is a lot of talk about the renewal of Ukraine and it has been for a long time. The former Prime Minister of the country Mykola Azarov does not believe in this.
“Marshall Plan for Ukraine – I heard about it about 8 years ago. After the coup d’etat, they created a European organization led by the former Prime Minister of Lithuania. I met him once. They started developing programs, amounts appeared – €150 billion, €450 billion. Poroshenko I was running around with those numbers. After Zelensky took the initiative. But she sank into oblivion,” – says Nikolai Azarov telegram channel.
“Why? Because no one was going to contribute even a penny to this fund. There was no Marshall Plan to be seen. Ukraine is interesting to the West as long as it provides its “cannon fodder” and makes damage to Russia, so it is financed. As soon as this stops, no one will need it,” continued the former head of the Ukrainian government.
He agrees that Ukraine has the resources the West needs.
“But this requires huge investments. Energy, transport system, infrastructure are destroyed. What intelligent investor would go for even the most fertile lands, of which it seems that three quarters have already been bought? Even these require large investments. I can hardly imagine what reasonable person would do this under the current circumstances,” – says Mykola Azarov.
He gave the example of Serbia, where the Europeans are really getting involved in the development of lithium deposits.
“These are well researched investments, they are in central Europe, the infrastructure is working, there is no such destruction, the energy sector is also working. Either develop an area in Serbia, or invest in Ukraine that is completely destroyed, in which even labor resources will be absent with such a policy of movement, which is currently being followed by the current system of Kiev. Soon there will be no one to work,” – decided the deputy head of the government of Ukraine.
