“In a travel agency I can turn my passion into a career,” says 18-year-old Emma Pranjic (photo), who started her training at the Alltours travel center at Nuremberg Airport. 16-year-old Finja Hutt from Butterfly, on the other hand, enjoys taking care of “everything organizational.”
Counter vor9 asked around and asked young tourists about their reasons for choosing a career. Another question was about expectations of professional life in the travel industry and, last but not least, first impressions were asked. Here are the answers from eight trainees who started vocational training at the counter this year.
Defina Zenkoski, 21 years old, works at the Stief Vater travel agency
I enjoy fulfilling people’s wishes and designing creative trips. This passion made my decision about my future much easier. I enter my professional life in tourism with great expectations and look forward to planning exciting trips and getting to know new cultures. My first impression is entirely positive. The teamwork is excellent and I look forward to expanding my knowledge of the industry.

Traveling is my passion. I want to plan their dream trip for customers and discover exciting destinations and cultures myself. Because of my interests, I decided to work in a travel agency. I expect a lot of variety and direct contact with customers. I look forward to continually learning and developing in the travel industry. I’m also looking forward to seeing the world.

I chose to work in travel sales because I enjoy being in contact with customers and helping them make their dream trip come true. I also like to take care of everything organizational. I want to discover beautiful, new travel destinations and fulfill the wishes of as many customers as possible. Right from the start of my training, I was able to do a lot on my own and I found it incredibly fun. My colleagues are all very nice and help me straight away if I don’t know what to do or have a question.

It was clear to me very early on that I wanted a job where I had a lot of customer contact. I am also very interested in other countries and cultures. I hope that the industry continues to grow and that we can continue to inspire many people to book with travel agencies. I also hope to be able to travel a lot so that I can give customers even better advice. The first impression is great. I have really nice colleagues who support me in everything and I learn new things every day.

Traveling has always been a big dream for me. I love discovering new countries and getting to know other cultures. In a travel agency I can turn my passion into a career and help customers take their dream trips. I find it really exciting to realize individual travel wishes. I hope that I will quickly understand the tourism systems and processes and learn a lot about the different travel destinations. Because then I will soon be able to look after my own customers. I also want to learn as much as possible about the latest trends in the tourism industry and develop myself further.
Evelyn Mustjace, 20 years old, trainee at Westfalen Urlaubreisen
Since traveling is my absolute passion, I decided to start my training as a travel agency. I’m really looking forward to learning as much as possible about the world and the individual destinations so that I can pass on my knowledge to customers. I’m also excited about the variety; Because every customer is different and has different ideas about their dream trip.
Ragnar Holthöfer, 21 years old, Trainee at Westfalen Urlaubreisen
I have always been interested in the different regions and cultures on earth and I have a good knowledge of geography. Since I enjoy direct contact with customers and am happy to help you plan and book the best time of the year, working at the counter is ideal for me. I enjoy going to the travel agency every day and hope to improve my sales interview skills during the training.

I like cruises and would like to help people plan their vacations. I hope to get to know new and exciting people, places, destinations and ships in my professional life as a tourist and to continue my education. I was welcomed very warmly into the travel agency team and have been given a variety of tasks.
