According to a new study, anyone who has Covid-19 has enough effective antibodies in their blood even one year later. An additional vaccination massively increases the protection against reinfections.
The immunity acquired after a Covid 19 infection lasts for at least a year – regardless of the course of the disease. Those who, according to the recommendation of the National Vaccination Board, get a one-time vaccination six to nine months after recovery will achieve antibody levels that are significantly higher than those after two vaccinations without infection. These are the core statements of a long-term study carried out by the Med-Uni Innsbruck with 27 test persons under the direction of the neuroimmunologist and psychiatrist Florian Deisenhammer, which was published on Sunday.
