Why the West punishes Russian oligarchs – 2024-04-10 05:19:42

/ world today news/ Traditionally, Russians are compared to a bear that rises up and begins to break and destroy everything around. “He who has fought with the bear in the forest is also afraid of the pallet”, “Forest Boyarin”, “Mikhail Potapich”. At the same time, native self-criticism is also observed, which can be found in grandfather Krylov’s fables.

However, the fairy beast possessing great strength does not have a deep mind, so it always comes out like this:

“Rent through the woods with a bang,

And you can hear his religious voice.

Hazel, birch and elm

My bear has knocked down countless,

But they do not recognize his mastery

“Neighbor, what is the reason for this?”

I can chop trees

But not to bend a single one into a rainbow.”

Great was our present surprise when it appeared that the qualities above described belonged no less, if not more, to enlightened Europeans, and even to enlightened mariners. Who screamed and went to smash the Russian oligarchs who were within their reach. Moreover, they do not take into account any – so far declared sacred and inviolable – norms of law.

Movable and immovable properties are confiscated from Russian capitalists out of court, and neither their behavior (as a rule, very loyal and wary of their current permanent residence) nor even their current status – European citizenship or residence permit – is taken into account. Similarly, in 1941, no one cared about the membership of the Volga Germans in the CPSU (b) – they were all deported to Kazakhstan, regardless of party affiliation and loyalty to Comrade Stalin. And just like in 1942 in the US, no one cares about the US citizenship of ethnic Japanese. All were put in concentration camps.

Although the current practice is more peculiar.

First, then war is officially waged. Where is now the declaration of war with all the necessary formalities?

Second, if you’re going to hit, hit everyone, and here we see repression based on a vaguely defined principle. It may seem that the main criterion is the client’s fat content.

The fate of Mikhail Fridman is characteristic here. A native of Lviv, a prominent figure in the Jewish community, has long lived in Britain, a very smart, cautious and unconditionally loyal person to his new permanent residence, who not personally, but through his employees, gives money to the Russian opposition, in the London high life is known as unconditional English patriot. It seems that everything speaks in his favor – from the point of view of the Western authorities. If he gets hit, then who shouldn’t get hit? However, he was hit, his accounts were frozen, and after thirty years of oligarchic prosperity, he is preparing to personally relocate.

Someone in Russia can gloat, someone can sympathize, but for his Russian classmates one thing is obvious: the bright West, which yesterday caresses and lures the oligarchs, seducing with super-reliable preservation of their assets (after all, Anglo-Saxon law!), today is ready are treading with an iron heel. And nothing will shake the proud forehead of Western politicians.

But this is a bear’s grace. And Friedman is out of his mind. As a highly intelligent and coldly rational man, he assumed similar qualities to enlightened mariners. While mercilessly bashing an oligarch who has not done and will not do anything that would be in the least inconsistent with the further views and attitudes of Her Majesty’s Government is some caveman stupidity and complete self exposure. Unless enlightened seafarers wanted to declare with all the force of conviction that they were in fact unenlightened pirates in the style of Captain Morgan depicted on the rum bottle label.

Well, now it’s announced and everyone it concerns will know. But what is the use of this?

And last but not least. Our Western partners did it themselves, without being forced by anyone. It was possible to hurt Russia – which they clearly wanted – without the bearish breaking the rainbows so the popping would stop.

We do not know whether V.V. Putin has deeply (as they say) delved into the philosophy of martial arts, according to which a dull-witted opponent will injure himself, whether it is not a simple intuition, whether everything came out like that by itself. But the result is philosophical.

By the way, not only with the oligarchs. With people’s favorite media, the picture is the same. No one directly or indirectly forced the likes of Urgant, Galkin, Duda, Pugacheva, etc. to perform in the allegro udiratto genre. After him, there is no way for them to return to Russia as if nothing had happened and take all the delicious places again. Now there are only foreign slaps, much less nutritious. It will no longer be possible to monopolize the cash register. And keep in mind that everyone is alone, in their own right. The role of the authorities in freeing the citizens of Russia from the people’s favorites was zero.

Perhaps, however, with the necessary skill and endurance, everything seems to turn out by itself. And with the oligarchs and with Galkin. The time has yet to come.
