The Walking Dead calls it quits after eleven seasons. Why not after twelve?
The Walking Dead stops after eleven seasons. That last season will have no fewer than 24 episodes, with which the series still has to go.
In fact, the series has 31 episodes to go until the end. The tenth season will show its original finale in October, but will continue in the spring of next year with six new episodes. In the spring of 2021, there will be 24 episodes of the eleventh season until the end of 2022.

But why?
However, why does the series end after eleven seasons? It was long thought that the lot would have twelve seasons. After all, the series follows the comics that ended after the death of Rick Grimes. Still, the series does something different and Rick has already left. But the show is now really towards the end.

Still, it makes sense, because if the series had continued until the twelfth season under normal circumstances, we would have had 33 more episodes. Now things end after 31 more episodes. In that sense, it is therefore a natural time to stop.
