The Stadtkinoverein has tried many things to attract more people to the Rheinfelden cinema for special films – but it didn’t help. Therefore, the series Our Film must be discontinued.
After the Corona break, there were too few for the offer to still be economical. But not only the series “Our Film”, but the existence of the entire Stadtkino-Verein is threatened by the cinema-goers who stay away. Maja Tolsdorf spoke to board member Frank Trotsky about the possible reasons.
BZ: What was the last film you watched?
TROTSKY: I have to think about that. Downton Abbey, the second part is currently at the start. This is a family saga, not a blockbuster. Anyone who has a thing for English aristocracy will like it. I also like the interpersonal aspects in the film – with envy, resentment, tricks and such.

BZ: And blockbusters don’t appeal to you at all?
Trotsky: I prefer profound, touching films. A film has to draw people…
