This was announced by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty on the national telethon.

He explained that in the summer the Russians did not realize how long the campaign would last. The enemy counted on faster results and used almost unlimited 122 and 152 caliber shells.

«Now they have focused specifically on the Bakhmut, Avdeevsky, Limansky directions near specific settlements in which they are most interested in offensive operations. They can no longer afford a constant rain of fire. They already need to deliver ammunition from a greater distance, they are looking for it in different countries to buy. Because of the incredible intensity of the war,” Cherevaty explained.

He also added that the Ukrainian military is constantly destroying enemy field depots with artillery, as well as blocking their delivery routes.

«They significantly removed the places of discharge of their artillery shells. No closer than 100 km from the front line, especially large groups. We are working to ensure that they have fewer opportunities to have constant access to artillery shells, ”the representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine summed up.

Earlier, CNN, citing uninvited officials from Ukraine and the United States, reported that in some sectors of the front, Russian troops have reduced artillery fire by 75%,

According to the TV channel, the Russian Federation may reduce the use of artillery ammunition due to a shortage of shells, or this may be due to a change in tactics against the backdrop of successful Ukrainian offensives.
