For years he was considered a secret minister of justice. Now the “Supersection”, which Christian Pilnacek has headed, is split in half.
In the end it had to be quick. The rumor mill was bubbling. And Christian Pilnacek was entitled to know whether the contract he had as head of “Supersection” IV (criminal law) would be extended for another five years. Now everyone knows: he won’t.
Insofar as this section soon no longer exists. By autumn, Justice Minister Alma Zadić (Greens) said at a press conference that was hastily convened late Tuesday afternoon that there will be (again) two sections. The Pilnacek section falls victim to a division. Zadić says elegantly: There will be an “improvement of structures in the area of criminal law”. And: “I want to push ahead with major reforms.”
