This is a mistake. A pilot named Patrick Smith revealed this error is very common. This error even slowed down the entire flight departure process.
“When your flight opens, resist the urge to stand and stand in line,” he was quoted as saying Mirror.
Smith relates that in the past, people would remain seated until the zone or row they were seated in was called.
“Right now, when the boarding call is announced, two hundred people immediately stand up and form a line, blocking the way for the passenger whose zone was actually called. People are being forced to literally elbow and shove other passengers,” he explained.
Furthermore, Smith explained that passengers who rush in line will not make the plane fly faster.
“On the contrary, it makes the already tedious boarding process take longer,” he replied.
So, travelers no longer need to rush in line when boarding calls are broadcast, yes. Unless, you get a seat at the front.
