Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has revealed that his inability to sign for Chelsea was because he had not reached the age of 18.
Recall that Onazi joined Lazio in 2011 after participating in the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where Nigeria reached the final on home soil, losing to Switzerland.
However, during a conversation with Ajanssporthe Nigeria international said he had a trial with the Blues but as he was a minor the whole process did not come to fruition.

“When I was young I almost signed for Chelsea, but we were underage and couldn’t play.
“We had to wait until we were 18. There was a lot of process.
“That’s why my manager decided that we go to Italy at that time. So he could start in Lazio’s second team and then, when he develops, he could start in the first team.
