In an interview with NRK’s radio program Sommer P2 tells Norway’s richest man that everything was done and ready for him to move from Norway to Switzerland.

The apartment in Lugano in Switzerland must have been ready and the plane tickets had been booked. According to Witzøe, it was only 12 hours until the flight left when he changed his mind.

– Everything was ready. Everything seemed right. I was again told that was correct for all the businesses we own. But that it was of course up to me.

According to Witzøe, there is an Excel sheet that shows how many millions he could save if he moved to Switzerland.

– That’s why everyone said I should move. To Switzerland, that is. And damn fast. It was supposed to happen before the national budget was presented, says Witzøe.

The Witzøe family must have already had family council the same week that the state budget was presented on 6 October.

Not thinking about moving

The news of Witzøe’s move to Switzerland comes just one month after D2’s interview with the salmon billionaire. Here he said that he himself is not thinking of moving down to Europe.

When asked if he is thinking of moving to Switzerland, he replied:

– No, I live in Norway. And am very proud to be Norwegian. And happy in Norway. I feel very good here.

The D2 interview was in connection with the billionaire heir’s debut as a furniture designer. Two days later, he launched the collaboration project with the Swedish furniture manufacturer Fogia with an exclusive dinner at Maaemo. 70 guests were invited.

Røkke about Witzøe: – I’m a bit more flamboyant than him, then

In light of Witzøe’s debut, D2’s journalist asked if he thinks there is more room now to create a different life for himself than his parents’ industrial and financial careers.

– Money and inheritance are not the only things I have received in life. I have also been given a personality, some characteristics and a will of my own – which I want to manage with the same respect as the financial inheritance.
