By autumn at the latest, many large companies want to bring their employees back to the office – at least partially – from the home office. Just as the start of working from home was not a sure-fire success at the beginning of the Corona crisis, the gradual return should also be well thought out and well planned.

Corona has fundamentally changed our everyday work – that much is certain. The question that arises, however, is whether the changeover was only temporary or whether the new routines and working models – at least in part – will be retained. The last year and a half have shown that “remote working” can result in a number of advantages for both employees and employers. Hybrid solutions – a mix of home office and office – will probably establish themselves in numerous companies.
The digital insurance nexible shows how the new change works best for both employees and entrepreneurs and which solutions are suitable. “Since we have primarily focused on mobile and location-independent work since our foundation, we were not faced with any problems with massive changes during the pandemic,” explains Jonas Boltz, Managing Director of digital insurance.
Why keep mobile working?
Flexibility was right at the top of nexible’s list of priorities from the start – because that is exactly what is reflected in the concept of digital insurance. “By enabling employees to better combine their private and family life with work, we want to create motivating framework conditions,” emphasizes Boltz and adds: “We are particularly concerned with retaining employees over the long term. By enabling location-independent work, we can also keep skilled workers more easily if, for example, their place of residence changes ”. In order to be able to achieve the best possible results, it is more a matter of initiative and personal responsibility on the part of employees than on-site inspections, nexible is convinced.
New working models: Shared workplace
During the pandemic, many teams have proven that working from home does not mean a loss of quality at work if the technical requirements are met. This has caused many managers who were initially skeptical to rethink their approach. In addition, previous experience has shown which activities the home office is suitable for and when it is advantageous to be in the office. Practical solutions for coworking spaces are recommended for staying in the office. “At nexible, we not only use the technology to the advantage of our customers, for example when it comes to digital contracts or claims reports, but also for the organization within our workspaces. We are currently using a tool that visualizes our desks in the office. That helps a lot to come to terms with one another, ”explains Boltz. In this way, the employees can see which places are available on which days and can virtually reserve a desk. Of course, the necessary safety distance is also observed.
Team spirit despite the distance
Such hybrid forms are ideal for remaining flexible and finding the best solution depending on the respective situation. Life has changed and many of them need gradual adjustments to their everyday work, for example to organize childcare and mentally change again. With all the new and positive flexibility, the advantages of being in the office should not be ignored, because the interaction with colleagues on site can contribute to the psychological well-being and strengthen teamwork. Keeping the team spirit high, especially when team members do not see each other or meet in person, is ultimately one of the greatest challenges for companies. “Through good communication, new ways of thinking and technological help, everyone in a company can benefit from new working models in the long term,” Boltz is convinced.
