Kuala Lumpur –
The Toyota Kijang Innova is an MPV car that is classified as a premium among Indonesian automotive consumers. However, in neighboring Malaysia, the Kijang Innova is a fleet of airport taxis. What does it look like?
Kijang is a legendary car in Indonesia. The 7-passenger MPV car is a product originally designed specifically for the Indonesian market. Over time, the car was also exported to a number of Asian countries. The Kijang continued to receive updates, until finally it was equipped with a hybrid engine through the Kijang Innova Zenix model.
Malaysia is one of the countries that imports the Kijang Innova. There, the Kijang Innova is one of the taxi fleets. According to detikOto’s observation, there are two models of Kijang that are made into public transportation, namely the 2011-2013 Kijang model and the ‘Reborn’ Kijang Innova.
The Kijang Innova is a taxi fleet at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) 2. Sporting a dark blue color, the Kijang Innova is used as a premium taxi, which of course will be more expensive in terms of fares. Interestingly, one of the Kijang Innova taxis received a touch of modification by using sporty wheels.
This is not the first time the Kijang Innova has been used as a taxi. The car is also used as a ‘worker’s car’ in other Asian countries, such as in Thailand and Dubai. With large dimensions and more powerful power than low MPV cars, it’s only natural that the Kijang Innova be used as a taxi car.
This is of course very different from the conditions that occur in Indonesia, where it is low MPV cars that are often chosen as taxi fleets, for example, the millionth car Toyota Avanza, Honda Mobilio, and Nissan Livina. In Indonesia there are also premium taxis, but the class is very high because they use the Toyota Alphard.
