Why is New York called the city that never sleeps?

With a touch of pride, New Yorkers like to point out to tourists that New York is’ the city that never sleeps ”, the city that never sleeps. And this title is well deserved, for 3 main reasons:

1 / The metro runs all night

• In New York, unlike Paris, London or Rome, the metro operates 24 hours a day! So, no need to stress yourself out if you want to enjoy a late night: there will always be a metro to take you home, whether it’s 3am or 4am!
• While the pace of the subways in the middle of the night is much greater than during peak hours, but you will not stay on the platform.

2 / Restaurants open 24 hours a day
