Vitamin D is the only vitamin that is independently produced in the human body. It is not difficult to maintain its level in summer – it requires sun! But what to do in the cold season? Where to look for the main source of good mood? We deal with Alexander Myasnikov on the air of the TV channel “Russia 1”.
Dr. Myasnikov is sure that almost half of the people around the world suffer from vitamin D deficiency. But it is this vitamin that is part of every cell of our body and is vital for the normal functioning of all organs. The most important function of vitamin D is to strengthen bone tissue and prevent osteoporosis. But there are other undeniable benefits of the “sun vitamin”. “Modern research has shown that vitamin D reduces the risk of developing cancer, including colon cancer, heart disease and stroke. It is involved in the regulation of blood pressure, and a number of tests have shown a positive role of this vitamin in the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis,” comments Alexander Myasnikov in its program.
The best way to get vitamin D is through exposure to sunlight. If you do not have such an opportunity, then you need to send for a vitamin to the pharmacy. But according to the latest scientific evidence, synthetic vitamin D is only effective for strengthening bones. “Unfortunately, it really is!” – Dr. Myasnikov clarifies.
But there is another way. Vitamin D can be obtained from food – 100 grams of cod liver contains 1000% of the daily value of vitamin D, and in one egg, about 22% of the daily value. What other food is worth paying attention to? Dr. Myasnikov recommends including butter, cottage cheese, cheese, fatty fish and other seafood, including seaweed, in your daily diet. Dairy products, according to the specialist, are not only a source of vitamin D, but also the prevention of breast cancer and osteoporosis necessary for all women.
