It is in the name of individual freedoms that democracy is deployed. It is thanks to the Charter of Rights that life in society allows everyone to be free. To access all the other rights that allow us to dream and progress.
We have been living for a year and a half in a pandemic that has changed both our lives and our principles and our hopes. This terrible virus threatens us. It kills us, destroys our bodies, limits our freedoms.
To tell the truth, we are at war and we do not know the day when we will emerge from this nightmare. COVID-19 keeps changing. However, science has made giant leaps in developing these vaccines that protect us.
The majority of people in Canada have consented to self-isolation as per government requirement. They agreed to be vaccinated. To protect yourself and others.
Irresponsibility
But a year and a half later, the virus continues to rage and another virus has now seized the minds of part of the population, which personally refuses to be inoculated. These people are irresponsible. They claim their own rights while they don’t care about the rights of others.
The Legault government, which was able to manage the crisis so well, apart from the tragedy of the CHSLDs, cannot back down. This week, we learned that a teacher has infected children in her school. We cannot close our eyes to the hundreds of thousands of Quebecers who still refuse to be vaccinated. We must wage war on these people who under delusional pretexts are causing hundreds of cases to be declared every day.
The vaccination passport is no longer sufficient. The Legault government must show firmness. The vast majority of new covids are people who had refused the vaccine and who in turn infected children and young people in particular.
Indecency
It is becoming indecent to allow health workers, the school system and more broadly all those in direct contact with the public to rise up against what is described as a violation of their personal freedom.
The damage caused by these anti-ax, anti-masks fanatics and other morons who believe themselves to be above the mass of “slaves” for whom they take us have thus used our patience. They insult us all day long. They are now targeting the indoctrination of our children and adolescents, by definition worried and on the lookout for nonsense on social networks.
There will be a price to pay if we allow their dangerous and devastating beliefs to be imposed on the whole country.
Compulsory vaccination is a step back from our democratic rights, of course, but we have no other choice if we want to get out of this hell. The Charter cannot be used as a justification to put everyone’s life in danger. It is science that delivers us from evil.
