“Why hasn’t he won 15 Super Bowls?”

A year after retiring as an NFL player, Tom Brady is starting his new job as a TV pundit. The 47-year-old is apparently preparing for this task like a madman.

The new NFL season begins in about three weeks. Tom Brady, arguably the best player in history, is back – but in his new role as a TV expert for the US broadcaster Fox.

The 47-year-old apparently prepared himself meticulously for this task. “Most people who have signed such a huge deal would have too big an ego to ask questions. But Tom asks every possible person for tips for his new job,” said Fanatics founder and Brady buddy Michael Rubin in NFL insider Adam Schefter’s podcast.

The founder of the fan merchandise supplier is confident that Brady will also cut a good figure in his new job: “I think he will be incredible in the commentary position because he is already asking questions. He is also very self-confident and yet humble.”

NFL: Brady starts as TV expert after time off

It was already announced in May 2022 that the longtime star quarterback would work as a TV pundit after his active career. In February 2023, just days after his retirement as an NFL player, Brady then announced that he would not begin this new adventure until fall 2024.

According to Rubin, Brady’s attitude, which made him successful as an athlete, has not changed after his retirement. “Tom is the same crazy guy who won seven Super Bowls. He gets up at 5 a.m. every morning. He’s always working, he’s always giving it his all. He just has this incredible will to win in everything he does,” the entrepreneur explained.

“Before I knew him as well as I do today, I didn’t realize how extremely focused he is. And now that I know him, I wonder why he hasn’t won 15 Super Bowls because his intensity is so much higher than anyone else I know,” Rubin said of his friend.

According to reports, Brady will be handsomely compensated for his new role as a TV expert: the ten-year contract is expected to earn him around 375 million US dollars.
