Ed Sheeran spoke of how writing pop music is “more challenging” than any other form of music.

The songwriter revealed that negative reviews of his songs never bothered him because he accepts that his music doesn’t go down well with everyone.

However, the musician believes that pop stars should be respected because one of the most difficult tasks is to write a good catchy tune. During his appearance on the CBS Sunday Morning talk show, the star said: “I used to love myself a lot [für die Rezensionen] interested because I’ve spent my whole life trying to become successful. But you won’t always be able to be everything for everyone. Just like I haven’t really been a critics’ favourite, but I don’t know, I think it’s harder to write pop music than any other type of music.” Ed also spoke about his current copyright lawsuit after being accused of Copying Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’ classic with his hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’ “I just think it has to do with the genre… There are about four chords used in pop songs. And if you think about it mathematically, the odds are that this song has the same chords as this song — there are multiple, multiple songs — that’s always the same four chords.”
