Jakarta –
The All New Daihatsu Ayla gets a lot of updates, both in terms of the platform, exterior, engine and the addition of the latest features. But in the second row of seats, the All New Daihatsu still doesn’t have a headrest or headrest. What is the reason for Daihatsu to maintain such a design?
Indeed, if you look at it, the second row seats on the All New Ayla seem to have a few headrests. Maybe if behind the passenger there is a small child, aged 7 or 10 years, the seat with the headrest model like that is still comfortable to use.
However, when tested by a detikOto tester with a height profile of 165 cm, the seat was unable to properly support the head. As a result, the tester feels uncomfortable. When you want to sleep in the second row on a long trip, your head feels like it’s hanging.
“Regarding the specifications for the rear seat headrest on the All New Ayla. If we talk about this as a family car with two children, it shouldn’t be a problem with the current conditions. But even so, even if it’s used by adults with that height (headrest), we see that it is still able to support the neck of the passenger. So from a safety or security point of view it is still safe,” said Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) Product Planning Division Head Anjar Rosjadi on the sidelines of the All New Daihatsu Ayla test drive in Yogyakarta (11-13 /5/2023).
Unlike the back seat, the front seat of the All New Daihatsu Ayla 1.2 R CVT ADS, which detikOto tested in the test activity, was very adequate for the front row passengers. Even though it can’t be adjusted, the front seats already have proper headrest. In addition, the seat design is also quite sporty with a semi bucket seat style.
