New, beautiful, but unsuccessful. How so?
In September 2020, LADA Vesta celebrates its 5th anniversary. In honor of this event, AvtoVAZ intends to release a version of the car with an updated design of the exterior and interior. The manufacturer planned the release of LADA Vesta FL at the end of 2019, but was limited to changes in the technical part. So, a significant innovation of Vesta was the appearance of a new Renault-Nissan engine and a Jatco variator.
Vesta with the factory designation Facelift will receive a refreshed body with new bumpers, a radiator grill, optics and a fifth-door cover of a different shape, while the side of the car will remain unchanged. In addition, the new “Vesta” will acquire an updated power window control unit, which now works in automatic mode, and the washer nozzles will move from the hood to the “frill” of the car.
As part of the facelift, LADA Vesta will be equipped with a modern front panel, new door cards and a central floor tunnel, but the main “feature” of the interior will be a large “floating” multimedia touch screen, which is combined with an air conditioning unit. The lower part of the center console will acquire a special niche for the smartphone, which provides an option for wireless charging.
The changes do not end there. The mechanical transmission selector will also receive a new design, and an electronic parking brake button and a washer of the selector for driving mode will appear near the closed section for cupholders. The steering wheel will become smaller in diameter, the start / stop button will appear on the panel, and the instrument cluster will consist of 2 wells and a large on-board computer display.
However, auto experts are convinced that the new LADA Vesta FL 2020 will not meet the expectations of the Russians. AvtoVAZ has already confirmed that, due to the current situation, the restyled Vesta will go on sale in early 2021. Motorists, on the other hand, believe that by the time the brainchild of the Togliatti Automobile Plant “takes off” in price, it will again be an outsider against foreign competitors. “While AvtoVAZ is dreaming of restyling the slop bucket, Hyundai is launching the third Solaris, which will tear Vesta to pieces,” network users write.
