Before 9 a.m., messages started flooding other social networks, like Twitter. Others were more specific, saying the program crashes and in some cases logs users out completely.

Around 9 a.m. Tuesday, the site’s Snapchat page posted an avalanche of reports. About ninety percent of the reports listed “connections” as the primary issue, with others citing “applications” and “servers” issues. At 10:30 a.m., the increase in the number of reports continued, with only a slight drop.
Snapchat was originally designed as an app that allowed users to send photos and videos to each other, with the caveat that the data would be erased after a certain period of time. In recent years, the app has moved towards “Stories”, which are daily feeds of information produced by users and marketers.
