Intervertebral disc herniation, also known as a herniated disc, and spinal stenosis, which affects one in 10 adults over the age of 60, the back pain caused by these diseases is so fatal that it paralyzes daily life.
Some patients treat the problem with medication, physical therapy, or procedures instead of surgery, saying, “You shouldn’t mess with your back carelessly,” but in many cases, the excruciating pain ultimately leads to surgery.

A man in his 40s has had four surgeries since his first spinal surgery in 2006, but the pain that started in his lower back has not gone away and continues down his legs to his feet. Because of this, I am unable to even wear socks and am on leave from work. His wife has no choice but to watch with a sad heart as he undergoes multiple surgeries.
His diagnosis was failure syndrome after spine surgery. Failure syndrome after spine surgery refers to cases where the patient’s condition was incorrectly diagnosed, the surgical method was selected incorrectly, the purpose of the surgery was not achieved, or the purpose was achieved but the condition was not maintained.
A man in his mid-70s who had worked tirelessly throughout his life, including running a butcher shop and farming, underwent two surgeries: decompression surgery in 2009 and fusion surgery in 2011. However, since a few years ago, I have been suffering from severe back pain again. I tried various procedures to avoid the third surgery, but in the end, they did not work, so I had to undergo the third surgery.
Decompression and fusion surgery, which are surgical methods for spinal stenosis, may cause other problems in the nearby spine after surgery.
