Travelers may wonder why there is a small hole in the plane window? Apparently this hole serves to ensure the safety of passengers.
Small holes located at the bottom of the window have a crucial role in flight. This hole guarantees passengers to stay safe and comfortable while flying in the air.
The existence of holes in the window of this plane is related to the pressure when the plane flies at high altitude. As is known, the higher the airplane, the lower the oxygen level. This can make passengers short of breath.
Even at 35,000 feet, passengers can lose consciousness due to the extremely low air pressure. To prevent unwanted things, the aircraft cabin is designed to provide greater pressure than the pressure outside the aircraft.
This process is good for passengers but can be bad for the plane. Well, the small hole in the airplane window was apparently used to regulate the changing air pressure.
This hole is also not just any hole. The hole consists of 3 separate panes in the plane’s window. The outer panel handles differences in air pressure, the middle panel balances the air, while the inner panel acts as protection.
In the middle of the window pane there is a drain hole. Its function is to balance the pressure between the passenger cabin and the air gap. The pinhole will work when the plane is at 33,000 feet.
With a small hole in the window of the plane, the air pressure outside the plane is much lower than inside. This allows each passenger to breathe safely and comfortably.
In addition, the small holes in the airplane windows also serve to release moisture from the gaps between the inner and outer panels, so that the airplane windows are free from fog.
