In June 2018, two years ago, the now-Mexico City Security Secretary confirmed the capture of 10 people, six of Chinese origin and four Mexicans, who were part of an international network of financial operators linked to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel. (CJNG), at various addresses in Mexico City.
After the kidnapping and murder of two elements of the AIC by the CJNG, which occurred between the limits of Jalisco and Nayarit, García Harfuch led the investigations for the arrest of 18 members of said criminal group, including Mauricio Varela Reyes, El Manotas, of Colombian nationality.
He also participated in the insurance of José Luis Gutiérrez Ochoa, “Tolín” and / or “77” and / or “El Señor de la TT”, brother-in-law of “Menchito”, and Jorge Luis Sierra Estrada, “El Orejón”, operator of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel in Tlajomulco, Jalisco, and compadre of “El Mencho”.
Similarly, the AIC of García Harfuch participated in the arrest of José Guadalupe “N”, “El 15”, head of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel in Zapotlán el Grande, Jalisco, and responsible for the disappearance of three Italian citizens .
Likewise, he planned the operation to capture Juan Francisco “N”, “Juan Pistolas”, head of the CJNG hitmen, who was in charge of distributing weapons to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) and drugs in the Guadalajara metropolitan area.

From the AIC, Omar García launched an offensive against the Tepito Union and the various groups of drug dealers operating in the capital, together with the Navy, achieving the arrest of violent criminals such as Roberto Mollado Esparza, “El Betito”; David García Ramírez, “El Pistaches”; Óscar Andrés Flores, “El Lunares”; and Jorge Flores Conchas, “El Tortas”, one of the main leaders of the criminal organization “Anti – Unión Tepito.

In 2018, García Harfuch received from the United States Department of Homeland Security the International Cooperation Award for the work of the PGR’s Criminal Investigation Agency to dismantle the transnational gang “Los Granados”, dedicated to human trafficking.
