Why did Persib coach Luis Milla hit the bench until it broke?

Persib Bandung maintains his winning trend well, when he meets Persebaya Surabaya in the continuation of League 1 2022/23, Saturday (10/12) evening WIB.

Maung Bandung secured victory with a score of 2-1, after Persebaya took the lead in the 44th minute through centre-back Leo Lelis.

In the second half, Persib finally manages to turn things around. Goals from Ciro Alves and David da Silva ensured victory for the Prince Charming.

Interestingly, the Jatidiri Stadium bench was damaged due to the actions of Persib’s coach, Luis Milla. The Spanish figure punched the Persib bench until a piece of glass broke.

In the press conference session, the former coach of the Indonesian national team explained the reasons for his gesture. Not to mention, he also apologized for doing so.

“This is because I do my job with passion. I apologize for this situation, I do my job with great passion,” Milla told the media.

“Again, I apologize, but I always try to express passion in doing my job,” continued the former Real Madrid player.

Also, Milla admitted that the match against Persebaya was very difficult. He praised how well the players worked together to achieve victory.

“Thanks to the players who showed their best performances, they fought hard, full of enthusiasm to get the maximum result in the match, especially in the second half. The opponents are a good team, but I thought about changing formation in the second half, inserting some players and scoring two goals.”

“I admit that Persebaya played well in the first half. What I passed on to the team, we have to play with fast ball circulation, we know that Persebaya always close their players in the centre. My second half changed everything.”
