His departure from Juventus:
“I still had 2 years of contract with Juve, there I became a complete defender, but I felt that the time had come for a new challenge, a new environment. In June, Bayern Munich came into contact and I was immediately interested.”
A more suitable style of play for him?
“FC Bayern’s style of play suits me because the team is attack-oriented.”
The opponent against whom he had the most difficulty:
“Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are obviously world class. The opponent who gave me the most problems so far was Leroy Sané in our international game against the German national team.”
Matthijs de Ligt wanted to leave Juventus for Bayern Munich for a playing style reason, according to his recent statements. The Dutchman had joined Turin at the time of Maurizio Sarri. He expected an attacking style of play, quite similar to Ajax, but this coach only stayed for one season, the same for Andrea Pirlo. Massimiliano Allegri has a much more defensive style of play, something that does not seem to please him and which prompted him to leave.
