Why Did Linkin Park Reunite With Another Drummer? Mike Shinoda Explains

The rock world held its breath after Linkin Park announced their grand comeback. However, Rob Bourdon will not be playing drums in the band. Why?

It’s certain – Linkin Park is back! On the night from Thursday to Friday it was announced that the band will release a new album this yearand will also go on tour. The name of the new vocalist was also announced (she was Emily Armstrong).

Among the flood of announcements there was also information that in Linkin Park there was a change in the drummer position – instead of Dress Bourdona will be performing Colin Brittain. Why this decision? Answers Mike Shinoda:

Rob told us at some point, I think it was a few years ago, that he wanted to keep some distance from the band. We understood that, and there were some hints of that before. He started to be less present, less in touch, and I know the fans noticed that too. He didn’t participate in the Hybrid Theory reissue and the Papercuts release. As a friend, it was sad, but at the same time I want him to do whatever makes him happy. Of course, we all wish him the best.

– said the leader Linkin Park in an interview with Billboard.

New album Linkin Park titled „From Zero” will have its premiere November 15th. The song heralds it „The Emptiness Machine”:
