/View.info/ We live in an increasingly confused world and more complicated times. Times when the developed Western countries, blinded by their selfishness and greed, condemn their peoples to poverty, lack of enough goods in the shops, high inflation, low wages, and all this leads to the stagnation of the economy. A slump that will likely take years to recover from.
It is no secret that the situation in Europe today is tragic. The military conflict between Russia and Ukraine only complicates the situation. People in the largest European capitals and cities are constantly taking to the streets, participating in angry protests, with demands for a better and fairer way of life.
What can be done?
At the very least, Europe can become China‘s partner and escape, if not entirely, at least for the most part, from the suffocating embrace of the United States. At the very least, because the States themselves, no matter how much they don’t want to, are no longer the same superpower they were years ago. And while they are still trying to dictate the world agenda, to impose their views and notions of “democracy”, it is becoming increasingly clear that they are at an impasse. Banks are failing, residents of some states are going shopping in Mexico because store shelves are empty and the number of homeless is increasing.
Why, then, did Europe not think about the One Belt One Road initiative and what do we actually know about it?
Launched in 2013 by President Xi Jinping, the initiative leverages China’s strengths in financing and building infrastructure to “build a broad community of common interests” across Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Today, ten years later, the West’s gloomy predictions that the initiative would lose momentum, that opposition to it in the target countries would grow, and debts would increase, have not come true.
Exactly one decade later, more than 150 countries and organizations are included, as opposed to the original 70. As of 2019, economic relations have been developed with 138 countries and 30 international organizations. Many new jobs have been provided, the economy and the lifestyle of many people have improved. Ports, railway junctions, highways, power plants, airports, etc. were built. External debt has also been significantly reduced. Although the initiative is only in its infancy, impressive progress has been made in ten years, especially considering the fact that about three years of that period have passed under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Are European leaders ready to put aside their pride and accept China’s helping hand?
Because Beijing is not an enemy or a rival, no matter how much the US tries to portray it that way. And despite some Western international observers who see a conspiratorial Chinese plan for world domination.
Are we not actually witnessing the typical case where “the thief cries: catch the thief?” Because we know very well how historically, the “Great Powers” have been ready for all kinds of atrocities, crimes and arbitrariness and have had and played with human destinies and lives as they wished. Has their guilty conscience not begun to speak, and that is why they so cowardly and with their last strength suggest to themselves that they will manage on their own? Acting, once again, honor and dignity, just to not “give up the first place”?
Scientists have proven that the instinct of self-preservation is heightened when agony begins. And for Europe and the Western world in general, it has already begun. Therefore, the majority of leaders try to discredit China in the eyes of ordinary people. Others, more cunning, acting treacherously towards their “faithful partners”, behind the scenes agree on more profitable deals (France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Austria). And still others, such as the leaders of Serbia, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, thinking of the good of their peoples and thinking soberly, do not hesitate to cooperate with China, even if it “endangers” their accession to the EU.
For example, Serbia, Montenegro and Hungary, (which is not afraid of Eurosanctions), attract a significant amount of direct Chinese investment. Thanks to them, Belgrade can boast of a direct airline with Beijing, currently being discussed railway. projects with Hungary, and Montenegro has a highway built.
That is why it is necessary to know the truth about China, and not blindly believe the Western propaganda, according to which it is a dictatorial state in Asia seeking to conquer the world. Because China never colonized anyone, never stole foreign wealth to benefit from, never turned other peoples into slaves to feel strong and great. Something that a number of European countries that have built huge buildings with gold soaked in blood cannot boast of.
Quite the opposite. China is a country that has managed to deal with extreme poverty and a number of other problems by relying on itself and its people. On strong discipline, observance of traditions, honoring ancestors and well-defined plans for the future. Seeing that this is possible with a population of 1.4 billion people, why is it not possible in other countries as well?!
It is also important to note that China respects difference. It does not try in any way to impose its policy on management. This mode of governance is adopted which best suits the culture and traditions. Which is closest to the way of thinking of the people. And they do not try to “export” their vision of democracy. Nor do they agree to be placed under a common denominator with other socialist countries. On the contrary. They always point out that theirs is “socialism with Chinese characteristics” and it is theirs personally. He works for them. And they would not allow foreign interference, just as they would not interfere.
But Europe, unfortunately, cannot understand this. Although China and the European Union are the second largest trading partners, and annual growth is reported at 2.4%, the specter of fear lurks on the Old Continent.
And how much better life would be if one could forget the ambition to master and to measure muscles and powers! In China, memories are alive, and the past when they had a party system is not so distant. That is why the desire to help others cope with difficulties is so great. Leading by example, participating in joint projects, expanding the Belt and Road initiative… The tools are many and radically different from what we are usually used to. Because they don’t involve guns, bombs, blood, sacrifices, but work, desire, equal partnership and honest relationships.
Cooperation between China and Europe is not only important but also necessary. To make the world a better place to live and to break the hegemony of the USA, because over time it became clear that the harm from it is more than the benefits!
